DAY 1: ARRIVAL INTO CASABLANCA

Welcome to Morocco!

Your private driver will be waiting to whisk you off to our gorgeous boutique hotel, amongst the boulevards of downtown Casablanca!

Settle in and soak up the stunning grounds of our hotel. Maybe a dip in the pool, unwind at the spa, or simply enjoy a quiet moment before we gather for a delicious welcome dinner to let the excitement of our upcoming adventure sink in.

Cheers to that!

DAY 2: RABAT

An exciting day awaits, starting with a sumptuous breakfast in our beautiful hotel!

We’ll take in the sights of Casablanca re-living the French-colonial days amongst the wide boulevards & traditional Moorish design of this white city. The majestic Hassan II Mosque is a sight to behold - from the towering minaret to the awe-inspiring tiled mosaics. It's hard to believe the scale and majesty, as we wander around the forecourt, amongst the arches and beautiful zellig tiles, before entering the mosque for an incredibly special private tour.

(There's no requirement to cover up for entry into the mosque, although we always encourage respectful attire).

We have a really beautiful spot lined up for our first lunch together.

Our journey then takes us to the picturesque capital of Morocco, Rabat, where ancient architecture sits beautifully next to contemporary developments, on the Bouregreg River.

Our home tonight is a rambling villa, set on an expansive estate, formerly the private home of a French family. There'll be time when we arrive to enjoy the beautiful pool & grounds... you may even meet the resident peacock! We can recommend the terrace for sundowners, before we meet for dinner!

(Today's approximate drive time: 1hr)

DAY 3: FES

Today we'll depart Rabat and travel through the picturesque rolling hills and fertile valley surrounding Meknes on our way to Fes. Passing fields of gold, olive groves and vines you'll hardly know that you're in North Africa!

After our leisurely break we'll head through to the ancient city of Fes, and our stunning home for the next three nights, a former summer palace.

(Today's approximate drive time: 2.5hrs)

DAY 4: FES

We'll start the day with a hearty breakfast, and then brace yourself...

Today we'll step back in time, in the largest living medieval city in the world. As we wander, we’ll immerse ourselves in the ancient cobble-stoned medina, overflowing with history and architecture, pattern and design, visiting artisans, merchants and the ancient tanneries which operate as they have for centuries.

A mystical labyrinth of colour, craftsmen and Moroccan wares, Fes is famed for it's leather goods, ceramics and more, so shopping is definitely on today's agenda!

The terrace is the perfect spot for evening sundowners, before a fun night in Fes this evening....

DAY 5: FES

Today we'll venture out of Fes to the incredible UNESCO Roman ruins of Volubilis. Our fabulous specialist guide will bring this to life, painting a picture of how this piece of history played out, on this beautiful site amongst the prettiest surrounding fields and wild flowers

We have a very special spot for lunch.... taking in the stunning landscape of these rich and fertile plains, savouring the local produce & delicacies.

We'll return to our Fes palace for a relaxed afternoon and evening! With one of the best views of the Medina.

DAY 6: MERZOUGA, SAHARA - DESERT TENTS

Today's journey unveils a vast array of landscapes.

We'll depart Fes and travel towards the picturesque Middle Atlas Mountains & the village of Ifrane, known as 'Little Switzerlandʼ for its alpine vistas.

As we approach the desert the landscape changes - fortified villages are set amongst rugged gorges, while palm filled oases hug the weaving riverbeds.

In the desert town of Erfoud we'll change to our 4WDs for our final transfer across the sand to our desert camp.

There's nothing like desert magic and no better place to find it than in the stunning Sahara in our glam desert tents. Camel riding, sand dunes and golden sunsets are just the beginning. The lantern lit night ahead will bring the beat of Berber drums, warm sand beneath our toes and desert dancing ... all under a bejewelled sky full of stars.

(Today's approximate drive time: 8hrs)

DAY 7: MERZOUGA, SAHARA

In the stillness of dawn watch the colours of the desert come alive as the sun rises over the sands of the Sahara. Thereʼs no hurry today, so a leisurely breakfast is in order!

Today is filled with immersion into the daily life in the Sahara that include visits to villages, and the opportunity to meet the warm locals. There's a rich history that exists specifically to this area, which we'll experience through the people, their music and how they relate to their desert surrounds.

In the afternoon, we'll transfer to our home for tonight, a beautiful riad built in the traditional style to this area. Nestled on the edge of a local desert village, with views across to the sand dunes, we'll settle in for some sublime downtime. Maybe a swim in our pool overlooking the dunes, or a wander around our little village or desert playground.

DAY 8: SKOURA

Today we leave the sweeping sand dunes behind and make our way toward the lush palm oasis of Skoura.

Lunch is set inside an ancient restored Ksar - a fascinating and wonderful community initiative that's drawing locals back to traditional ways of living. Within its walls you'll find a women's co-operative and a small Berber museum, offering a beautiful first-hand insight into the rich traditions and culture of the Amazigh people.

As we approach Skoura, the road winds through the Valley of Roses, a vast landscape famed for the fragrant blossoms that inspire some of Morocco's well known, most beloved scents!

For the next two nights, the elegant Ksar El Kabbaba will be our home. The perfect place to unwind and enjoy some down time ...

(Today's approximate drive time: 4 hrs)

DAY 9: SKOURA

A blissful day awaits.... slow down, rest and relax in this incredible oasis surrounded by beauty and stillness!

Today is yours to enjoy.... swimming, reading, village walks through the palm oasis or perhaps a hammam or massage at the spa.

Or maybe a Moroccan masterclass. Our resident chef is on hand to teach the culinary secrets to preparing some traditional Moroccan dishes, which you'll then enjoy in the beautiful gardens of El Kabbaba.

DAY 10: MARRAKECH

Following breakfast our drive takes us through the spectacular scenery of High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech ... a vivacious city, where tradition meets contemporary, with a rich, exotic blend of Berber, European and Arabic cultures.

We'll be welcomed into our enchanting riad, a serene haven tucked within the medina's winding lanes. With its whitewashed walls, peaceful inner courtyards & pools, and a dreamy rooftop terrace overlooking the city, it’s the perfect place to unwind and soak in the magic of our surroundings.

Once we arrive, we won't want to leave, so join us for drinks on the terrace.

Sleep well... tomorrow we'll dive into the sensory overload that is Marrakech.

(Today's approximate drive time: 4hrs)

DAY 11: MARRAKECH

Ready for a shopping trip like no other?! Today we'll head into Morocco's famed souks, explore the incredibly vibrant medina, and meet talented artisans crafting their treasures. Prepare yourself for an explosion of colour at every turn, as we immerse ourselves in the enchanting kaleidoscope of Marrakech. And as the mouth-watering aromas of local delicacies waft through the air we'll retreat to a shaded terrace to enjoy a delicious lunch.

In the afternoon, there's plenty of time for more shopping, or head back to the riad for some down time.

No visit to Marrakech is complete without a wander through the ever-changing Jmaa el Fnaa, Marrakech's iconic outdoor square that transforms into a vibrant marketplace by night, complete with the aromas of freshly cooked delicacies through to the visual delights and theatre of its snake charmers, henna artists and story tellers.

Later, we'll round off our inspiring day with a sumptuous dinner at one of our favourite local spots.

DAY 12: MARRAKECH

Our day begins at the serenely beautiful Majorelle Gardens, established by French painter Jacques Majorelle, before being bought and restored by Yves St. Laurent and his partner Pierre Berge. Within the gardens is a stunningly curated Berber Museum, and a petite art gallery of some YSL artworks. And for those wanting a special souvenir a visit to the bookstore and gallery is a must!

Next door is the stunning Musee YSL, showcasing original YSL designs and artwork amongst the contemporary architecture designed by Studio KO, inspired by the aesthetics of Yves St. Laurent.

In the same street is a collection of fabulous concept stores, offering an array of Moroccan inspired clothes and homewares with an edgy French chic. And perhaps time for a coffee or gelato at the gorgeous corner cafe?

Following lunch, it's time to return to the souks for free time in amongst all these treasures!

DAY 13: MARRAKECH

After a leisurely breakfast, you can opt to spend the day relaxing at our riad, or for those who want to hit the souks for some exciting last-minute shopping, our private driver & guide will be on hand.

Other Notes

  • A basic level of fitness is required for all of our tours. It's very common for riads and restaurants to have 2-3 sets of stairs between the ground floor and rooms/terraces.

  • On the days that we're on foot in the medinas we recommend flat comfortable footwear, as the grounds are often cobblestoned, and sometimes a little uneven.

  • Our passion for boutique accommodation means we choose to stay in places that reflect the traditional architecture & essence of our location. In most cases this usually means that no two rooms are the same (ie. some rooms are bigger/some smaller, some with terraces/some without etc.). We thank you for your understanding when rooms are allocated on tour.

  • As we use boutique riads & villas that have limited number of rooms, we may need to accommodate some of our guests in alternate accommodation, which will be nearby and of a similar standard.

  • There may be slight changes in the programme or it's sequence, however any changes or substitutions will be in line with the above and will only be done so to enhance and enrich our experience.

If you have any concerns, please let us know so that we can chat to you about it.
